Weather Forecast in Cyprus

Producing the weather forecast in Cyprus must surely be one of the world’s easiest jobs. With well over 300 days of sunshine a year, the wonderful climate in Cyprus is one of the main reasons for moving here. Cyprus has a typically Mediterranean climate, with long, hot, and very dry summers lasting from mid-May to mid-September. How nice to be able to plan a barbecue a few weeks in advance and know that it’s going to stay fine!

The winters are generally mild, with the bulk of the annual rainfall (which isn’t much!) being produced between December and February. The coastal areas rarely experience temperatures below 7°C, though it can be a couple of degrees chillier inland.

In contrast to the general Cyprus weather conditions, the Troodos mountains have their own little microclimate. If the midsummer heat gets too much for you on the coast, retreat to the mountains where you’ll find it a good 10-15 degrees cooler.
